When people hear the term nautical bird house, they think that it is a bird house that is intended to accommodate sea gulls, pelicans, and other sea birds. This is completely untrue because those sea birds will not be fit inside a nautical bird house. This type of bird house is only intended to accommodate common song birds. It got its name because it is built to resemble a nautical structure. Light house design is the most popular nautical bird house.

A nautical bird house is one example of fancy bird houses. Many people think that bird house is only a kind of box structure with four walls, a floor, and a small roof. However, bird house design has become advance recently and the finished product can resemble various objects, such as Victorian mansions, fire stations, barns, and old stores. Most of these designs are multileveled or have more than one chamber with separate entrance hole. Therefore, more than one family of birds can nest in without causing any territorial fight.

Traditional bird houses are relatively easy to make. However, when it comes to nautical and other fancy bird houses, general bird watchers will not be able to make one. The design is usually complicated and it will be hard for anyone besides professional carpenters to make the bird house. You should be able to get one from craft stores, feed stores, and pet stores.

Why fancy bird house?

Perhaps you are wondering why people want to buy a fancy bird house. It is only used by birds and obviously they cannot differentiate whether the design is beautiful or not. Furthermore, it costs much more than the traditional bird house. The reason is because those people intend to use the intricate appearance of this fancy bird house to decorate their garden. Some of them even use the bird house only for decorative purpose and thus they close the entrance hole and do not allow birds to use it. They put this fancy bird house in a prominent place so their guests can comment on its beauty.

However, if you also want the fancy bird house to function fully, then you should find a strategic spot to mount it. You should make sure that predators like cats and raccoons cannot access the bird house. Furthermore, you should clean the bird house regularly after birds have moved out.

A fancy bird house may attract the same types of bird as the traditional one. However, for some people, attracting birds are not the only goal. They also want to beautify their garden by placing this fancy bird house.

   can some physics-minded person help me figure these problems?
   a) the ratio of the number of sparrows to fancy birds at a bird feeder is 2:25. there are 91 birds total, then what is the
   number of sparrows?

   b) find every angle between 0 and 360 for which sin theta / cos theta = -3.00.

   c) for a period of time, as an alligator grows, its mass is proportional to the cube of its length. when the alligator’s
   length changes by 15.8 % its mass increases by 17.3 kg. find its mass at the end of this process.

   d) one drop of oil falls straight down onto the road from the engine of a moving car every 5s. what is the ave. speed of the car over this section
   of its motion: 20m/s, 24 m/s 120m/s.

   Bird Watching for Beginners?
   I’m finding a fancy for birds and the like. There’s a burning passion and urgent need to start bird watching and photography. I have a very low quality camera with poor lighting and a pair of binoculars that my mom oddly seems to have owned for a while. What can someone who’s still underage with no money do to go all out on this sort of hobby? Books and the like, maybe even record some things on paper. I might try saving up some cash for bird calls and bug my parents to go and get different feeders and such.

   To sum it all up, I would like a second opinion maybe from someone who is experienced.

   I always make birdhouses out of old recycled, unpainted lumber. Birds prefer weathered lumber to new lumber, and my houses almost always attract birds, too. I always build them for the kinds of birds I want to attract, because different shapes and sizes of hole, etc. make all the difference. You can google for “bird house plans” and find loads of this kind of information.

   a) All that you have to do for this problem is set up the ratios. So: 2/25 = s/f
   Note that s is sparrows and f is fancy birds
   Then, since you have 2 variables but only one equation, you set up a second equation. What else do you know about these birds? They add up to 91!
   So: s+f=91
   At this point you have 2 equations and 2 unknowns, and you can solve for your variables.

   b) first off, sin(theta)/cos(theta) = tan(theta) . So using your calculator you should be able to find when the inverse tan function is equal to -3. However, your calculator will only give you one value! If you graph the tan function you will see that it repeats, and that every so often it is undefined. This happens when cos(theta) is equal to 0 (because you can never have 0 as the denominator of a fraction). You should already know that cos(theta) is 0 whenever theta is equal to 90 degrees and 270 degrees. This is 180 degrees apart, or Pi apart in radians. So the cycle repeats every 180 degrees. Once you find your first answer, simply add and subtract 180 degrees as many times as needed until you have every possible answer within 0 and 360 degrees.

   c)This is going to use a system of equations once again. First write down the basic relationship that the problem tells you: m=k*L^3
   m=mass k=proportionality constant L=length
   Now, plug in what the second half of the problem tells you:
   m+17.3 = k*(L+.158*L)^3
   This reduces to:
   m+17.3 = 1.552836312*k*L^3
   You already know that m=k*L^3, so substitute m into the second equation and then solve for m!

   d) I don’t quite understand what this problem is asking… is that the whole problem?

   weeyell, question says most, but i’m thinking of not only plants that would attracts hummingbirds and songbirds but feeders (humming and song), bird houses, nesting material bag, trees, bird baths (fancy ones!), etc. It has to fit into like 8′ by 8′ and money’s not really a concern (I mean, it can’t go crazy lyk $50,000 or something but u kno what I mean)

   BTW: I live in the suburbs of San Diego, CA if that changes anything…
